Editorial policy
Southern Future Guide aims to make complex questions about the South and its possible futures clear, fair and useful to general readers. We explain our reasoning and correct the record when needed.
Accuracy and uncertainty
We check factual statements against appropriate material before publication and review names, dates and descriptions for accuracy. When a subject is disputed or uncertain, we say so and avoid presenting a possibility as a settled outcome. Our articles are explanatory, not professional advice or a substitute for local expertise.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader value and clarity. A partnership does not buy favorable coverage, a particular conclusion or control over our editorial choices. If a relationship could reasonably affect how readers interpret material, we disclose it alongside that material.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or unclear passage, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and issue. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, revise the text and make the correction clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears, and is kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations on the site are AI-generated; when relevant, their illustrative nature is identified so readers do not mistake them for documentary images.
The future is a question we can share
Southern Future Guide treats the future not as a prediction, but as a set of possibilities worth examining. We make room for different places, perspectives and choices.
